Paolo Filippi dalla Briga

Paolo Filippi dalla Briga, poet and secretary to the court of the Dukes of Savoy in Turin, deals with the art of writing letters and choosing "compliments". He insists that the formulas used in letters must be adapted to the circumstances. This repertoire was a great success; the work, first published in 1601, went through several editions, including one posthumous (1619).
