F. Scott Hess is an American artist and professor (Laguna College of Art + Design) who lives and works in Los Angeles, California. His works are characterized by the complex depiction of realistic scenes of everyday life, layered with symbols, allegories, and social commentary, as well as a touch of irony, through a certain lenticular distortion. The compositional complexity also coincides with an extremely elaborate pictorial and lighting technique achieved through the accumulation of precise brushstrokes.
