Adam Frans van der Meulen was a French painter of Flemish origin. Born in Brussels, he worked there until 1662, when he moved to Paris. There, he worked for the Gobelins Manufactory and then entered the direct employ of the Sun King. During his lifetime, he was a highly regarded battle painter as well as an excellent tapestry designer.
