Aldo Turkeyro is a painter and illustrator originally from Celico, in the province of Cosenza. He moves to Rome where he attends the Art School and meets Renato Guttuso with whom he actively participates in the artistic studio of Villa Massimo. His initial works, dating from 1942-1943 have strong references to the production of Carlo Carrà and Giorgio De Chirico. He took the painting course at the academies of Florence, Milan and Rome. In 1973 he was awarded the Fiorino di Firenze Prize. During his artistic career he has exhibited at the VII Quadriennale in Rome, at the Galleria Ca D'oro and at the Galleria La Nuova Pesa, both in Rome. Adheres to the neorealist current without giving up its originality as its canvases mainly depict animals such as fish and birds. & nbsp;
