Aldo Riso was a twentieth-century painter originally from Lecce. Born in 1927 in Santa Maria di Leuca, he studied law and at the same time studied painting techniques, in particular watercolour. He has exhibited in various Italian cities but also in Paris, Barcelona, Athens, Philadelphia, Berlin, Vienna, Cologne, Toronto, New York, Buenos Aires. In the Seventies he was invited to create a large mural work in Ustica. His artistic production is characterized by a strong predilection towards landscape painting composed of light, almost transparent tones. His works are characterized by the presence of houses, boats, fishermen, clear and crystalline skies, typical of his Puglia and more generally of southern Italy. Aldo Riso died in Rome in 2008.</o: p>
