"Nephew of Jean Brughel the Elder, in this small tondo, even if it is foreign to the genre he was used to, his pictorial traits and assiduous attention to detail are visible, significant is the small still life basket of fruit placed on the left which testifies to the great ability of the painter in representing the natural world. Even the butterflies that the children chase, trying to catch them, denote the painter's love for the minute attention to detail.
