Renaissance motif bowl with cloisonne enamels of thin gold threads on a blue base and white floral enamels applied on copper, 16th century

h 4 cm, diameter 12.2 cm
Pierre Reymond, an artist working with a large workshop in Limoges, was one of the most prolific enamel producers of the 16th century, specializing in enameled pottery. The blue and white palette on this object is enlivened by the use of gold threads to add luminosity.
The accurate modelling of the design is remarkable, as it is created on small spaces where a crowded vegetal decoration of Renaissance character emerges.
