A work attributable to the Zaganelli family. This exquisite panel is likely part of a larger work attributed to Francesco Zaganelli, who was active in the Ravenna area. We can refer to Zaganelli's Saint Lucy, whose style can be compared to the work in question. It most likely dates to the period of his visit to the Veneto region, where he was called to Vicenza to paint the Madonna of the Roses. During this stay, he was influenced by the Venetians and certainly came into contact with the influences of Dürer, which in some way inform our work. The work can be dated to around the early 16th century, as until 1509, Zaganelli worked exclusively in tempera.
