The Miraculous Catch, late 16th/early 17th century

The work, a valuable oil on panel, is attributed to an anonymous Flemish artist working between the 16th and 17th centuries. The painting is based on an engraving (itself based on the famous Raphaelesque prototype) from the collection Vita, Passio, et Resurrectio Iesu Christi published in Antwerp in 1598 by Adriaen Collaert. The drawing was conceived by Maarten de Vos, some of whose stylistic elements are recognizable, while the engraving was executed by Cornelis Galle.
