Vincenzo Marano is a painter originally from Acicastello, a town in the province of Catania. He soon left his homeland to enroll at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. In this period he met Renato Guttuso, an artist with whom he binds a deep friendship. Among the most important exhibitions in which he took part are the exhibitions at the Rome Quadriennale in 1959, the La Bussola Gallery in Bari and the La Margherita Gallery in Rome. His works present an adherence to reality with strong colors and free of aestheticism.
