Italianized Dutch painter, son of the painter Pieter Claesz, he was an esteemed painter and engraver of the so-called Dutch Golden Age. He stayed in Rome from 1647 to 1653, drawing the themes and ideas for his countless production from the Lazio landscape. The evocative glimpses of the Roman countryside were the scenographies shown on his canvases to depict sections of daily life with a rural and bucolic flavor. ASOR STUDIO
