Author exhibited at the Louvre in Paris, belonging to the circle of Antoine Caron, he collaborated with him in the creation of a cycle of tapestries then donated to Caterina dei Medici. The work at auction is a fitting example, in tone and manner, of the Fontainebleau school. Most likely it must also have been made in a larger format.
