Francesco Messina was a painter and sculptor originally from Linguaglossa in the province of Catania. During his childhood he moved to Genoa where he made his first contact with sculpture. Over the years, he has forged ties with some of the most important artists of the Thirties - Forties such as Giorgio Morandi and Lucio Fontana. He regularly exhibits at the Venice Biennale and takes part in the exhibitions of the Novecento Italiano in Milan. In 1934 he became a teacher of sculpture at the Brera Academy. & Nbsp;
